Balada Triste De Trompeta (The Last Circus) Director: Alex de la Iglesia (Accion Mutante, Perdita Durango) 1937, Spain is in the midst of the brutal Spanish Civil War. He finds work in a circus where he befriends an outlandish cast of characters, but as the Sad Clown he must take the abuse of the brutish Happy Clown Sergio, who humiliates Javier daily in the name of entertainment. It is here that he meets Natalia, a gorgeous acrobat, and abused wife of Sergio. Javier falls deeply in love with Natalia and tries to rescue her from her cruel and violent husband, unleashing Sergio's jealousy. But Natalia is torn between her affection towards Javier and her lust for Sergio. With neither man willing to back down, this twisted love triangle evolves into a ferocious battle between Sad Clown and Happy Clown, escalating to unbelievable heights in this absurd, shocking, irreverent and unforgettable film. In early announcement to retailers, Magnolia Pictures has indicated that it will release on Blu-ray acclaimed Spanish director Alex de la Iglesia's highly anticipated Balada triste de trompeta a.k.a The Last Circus (2010), starring Carlos Areces, Antonio de la Torre, Carolina Bang, and Manuel Tallafé. In 2010, the film won Silver Lion and Best Screenplay Awards at the Venice Film Festival. Street date is October 18th.
Wow, dat ziet er goed uit. Weinig films voor mij de laatste tijd, maar voor deze wil ik wel ff tijd vrij maken
Die had ik helaas gemist op Imagine, leek me ook erg leuk. Ong half september (19e) als het goed is in NL uit op dvd (helaas geen Blu Ray).
Oeh, dat is eerder dan in de VS. Wel jammer dat er geen Blu-ray in NL komt, maar aan DVD ga ik niet meer beginnen
Zag hem op Imagine, maar uiteindelijk vond ik het (niet zo verrassend, gezien Iglesia's eerdere films) in de 2e helft wel gierend uit de bocht vliegen tot ik het laatste half uur echt zuchtend naar het scherm zat te kijken. De Iglesia wil zo graag shockeren dat het soms wat vermoeind wordt en vindt zichzelf iets te geestig als je het mij vraagt. Maar als je een avondje wacko over the top nonsens, best te doen.
De geloofwaardigheid in deze film is ver te zoeken, maar dat mag de pret niet drukken. Met een film van de la Iglesia weet je wat je kan verwachten en neem je alles voor lief. Net als in El Dia De La Bestia, Accion Mutante en Perdita Durango, gaat de la Iglesia heerlijk over de schreef in dit absurditeitenkabinet. Grappig, bruut en tragisch. Verplichte kost ! 8,5 / 10
Moeilijke film. Ik vind hem niet leuk, niet boeiend en het weinige kleurgebruik staat mij ook niet echt aan. Zoals eerdere films van de la iglesia vind ik het geheel nogal matig zesje
Vond het ook maar een matige film,duurde ook 20 minuten te lang... Zaten wel leuke scenes in maar beetje te onsamenhangend. Zelfde score als kinky......zesje
Ik vond het toch ook een hele aardige film, heb me er prima mee vermaakt. Vrij herkenbaar voor Iglesia en dat moet je inderdaad liggen.
